Sally Jones Archive Project

The Sally Jones Archive Project is a collaboration between Aberafan Shopping Centre and Calon Afan, supported by the Community Heritage Fund through NPT Council. Sally is a local poet, biographer, and historian who has made a huge contribution to the local community.  She has a vast collection of manuscripts and documents, plus a library of literature and works of history, many by local authors, and some that are rare books.  It was felt that a way should be found of conserving her amazing collections. 

Thanks to the combined enthusiasm of all those involved, the support of the 'Trysorau Lleol' project of reviewing Sally Roberts Jones' archive, and the generosity of Helen John of San Portablo Arts who is enabling the archivist to use their premises - Unit 3&4, the Artist Window Initiative will be live every Tuesday at Aberafan from 8th April for 16 weeks.
